I WANT to help. I will be very willing to pass out letters and stand out fron t of Walmart or other local chain stores. I must address that I am located in South Dakota. Many have not heard of Riley's story p here. Can anyone suggest something that I can pass out to the people along with the letter to help them understand the severity of this epidemic of Child Abuse? Maybe her story?

Send me a copy of the letter, and I will get signatures. I do live in Texas, and it is time that we get some laws changed regarding children and non custodial parents and GRANDPARENTS. You have my email address.

I am working on this, I have checked out books and have been reading them and I am learning so much! Did you all know the lady who start the Blue Ribbon Campaign was also the GRANDMOTHER!!!!! There are so many stories out there and we are missing and it is crazy how many grandparents in the United States actually care for the grand children! Can you all believe 4 MILLION children live with their grandparents. I am reading over and over again how they tried to help and how they were the ones caring for the children, how every time they tried to help they were turned away.

This has truly been the most heartbreaking thing I have ever done in my life!!!!!! With each book I read, and every article that appears my heart is more and more broken.

Once I am done getting all my info together there is a retired professor who is going to help me write it up and then we will give it to Sheryl to approve. This will take a lot of time, after we get this wrote up and approved by Sheryl then we have to get support from political figures. We will also have to get the signatures for the petition at this time!

I will try to keep every one a little more updated with my progress, some times I get so engrossed in things that I forget to update everyone!!!!

With this case, everyone turned and looked the other way. The neighbors said that they could hear her cry at night and the neighbor said something to Jesse Compton and Compton told him that if he called the police that he would kill him and his girlfriend. I would have told that Mother f---er to bring it on and I would have called the police anyway. Then I would have killed his ass myself because he threatened me and I had to defend myself. Anyway, we can not be scared, silent, or blind as to what's going on. We need to open our eyes and we need to speak for those who can't speak for themselves. We need to stand up and fight and scream our lungs out until we get harsher punishments for these monsters that hurt and kill children. These children need us. They need for us to seek justice for them. We are all in this fight together and trust me, I will fight to the bitter end!!!

I LOVE YOU TESSLYNN, RILEY, AND KELSEY AND TO ALL THOSE BEAUTIFUL ANGELS THAT LOST THEIR LIVES TO CHILD ABUSE!!! WE ARE GOING TO FIGHT FOR YOU!!

I'm with you on this. If I had the cash, I would have done that a long time ago. I think those prisoners need to know why Jesse Compton is in there and what he did to Tesslynn. Because prisoners do not like baby killers and if they knew what he did, trust me, he's done for!!! It's just like Ursula's story. Look what happened to the monster that killed her. The criminals killed his ass in prison. You're right, if the officer would have gone inside and just lifted her shirt or lifted the blanket off of her, she would most likely be alive today.

The whole point of getting the petition started is to get the word out and let everyone know what Jesse Compton did to Tesslynn and that he needs to "ride the lightening" for it!! I emailed the petition to the local newspaper in Salem, Oregon. We have got to get more signatures. This monster needs to fry and go to hell!!

If anyone that crossed paths in Tesslynn's life would have gone the extra mile, she may still be with us. It wasnt just the officers who failed her. We just feel more anger towards them because we see police as those who can also help others. In this case they didnt. I cry when I think of that fragile child waving at them as they peered into the bedroom. I just cry. And she smiled at them. She probably thought they were there to save her finally from the devil and nightmare she was living in. Poor little girl...

Kstark, don't feel bad because you have not been here.So good to see you again! We know it is painful and we all have our own ways of dealing with what happened to Riley. Some choose not to see or discuss it and heal in their own way and some choose to be around others to talk about it. Me I have been here since day one and just watched all the postings for a while. I never wrote on a message board all the years I had my computer but finally I did here after a while in November and have not stopped since. That is how I need to deal with it. Alot of people left and come back. I see they still care and still love Riley. I see their names looking in the whos online here but sometimes they do not post, but we all are here for you if you want to talk about it. Someone is always here......
We are trying to pass a bill called Rileys Bill. Writing to senators and things like about custody laws and non custodial parents not being able to leave the state without agreement from the non custodial parent. Letting Rileys story be known and abuse cases that have happened because the laws and rights really need to be examined and changed. We are looking into making magnets for vehicles too. Barbie had beautiful bracelets made also. Theres alot going on here!! Glad you are back : ) being here means you are beginning to heal and find ways to help heal yourself and others by helping!

How do we organize this? Should we create a committee of some sort?

I'm in Texas and I like many others really want this so badly for Riley, but really don't know what to do. We have been talking about this since the beginning of last Dec and it's so wonderful we are making progress.

My thinking on Riley’s bill is basically this: as mentioned by many, allowing the non-custodial parent or grandparent more rights is a great start. With this a missing persons report or possibly an Amber Alert could have been issued after the parent and child are considered missing. Had Sheryl or Robert been able to issue an Amber Alert, I know there would have been a good chance Riley would have been found. I realize there are guidelines to this law as to not desensitize it, but no parent should be allowed to disappear with the child and not inform the other parent as to their whereabouts. Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't Kim allowed to obtain a Texas driver's license and a marriage license? These are both processed through government offices that could have easily located them. Also as Sheryl mentioned, Kim's father should have been forced by law to inform the Sawyers where Kim took Riley.
