We need to keep this story alive! I just responsed to Marlene's request to do so! I hope that some of us in the Houston area can get together and do something! Now all I have really done are balloon releases. I don't really know anything more than that to help! I do know that what we decide on needs to be something that we can put together quickly! Like I said we don't want this story to die!
And like I said a balloon release is the only thing I know how to do right at this moment! Maybe we can get together and have one in celebration that justice well be served! We can ask everyone else to do the same even though they aren't in Houston! Or maybe we can just get together and have prayer for him and other children! Throw out ideas but it is something we need to do quickly so that this story doesn't die!

Just wanted to give everyone
Just wanted to give everyone a brief update. I think we have some good news coming out pretty quick about getting Jose / Amado taken care of. I just need to get a few more details worked out. I hope to have some final answers by next week. Everyone please keep him and this mission in your prayers. I may travel to Houston next week, if necessary, to finalize some details. I'll let everyone know what's up and what the COF can do to help as soon as the family is fully on board and everyone gives their final blessing to the plans in place. Rest assured that Jose definitely has some loving angels who won't let him be forgotten, and all of you here on this group are amongst those angels.
I love you all dearly,
Barbie

I will try and get in touch with the family any help would be greatly appreciated! I think that is a great idea! I would need help in doing so!
I was thinking about us getting together and planting a rememarance tree! I think it would be great if we could find a park in the Houston area that would like use plant a tree in his memory!
The tree
Ruhla,
Of course I do not know the locations in reference to Houston and the Laura Recovery Center, or the Houston Child Abuse Center
Possibly the Recovery Center, or the Houston Child Abuse Center maybe a place where you would be able to set up a memorial for Jose. After all, that is their work also, locating missing children.
The wooden cross sounds beautiful, Marlene. If it was not able to be placed at the gravesite, it may also be place in the memorial along with the planted tree.
Just some thoughts
Hi all
I love the ideas everyone is having for Amado. I talked to the social services agent who was responsible for having him buried in 2004. She is working on something, and will be calling me in the next couple of days. I am going to the bank tomorrow to find about opening a Memorial Fund for help in buying a new grave marker and any other expenses. Richard Moreno is going to talk to the family. I will try to get him to put me in touch with them, and see what we can do to help them out and organize something.
You are all so wonderful, and I know your efforts will be so appreciated by his family.
I will keep you posted.
Love to all,
Barbie
Please keep me posted
I want to help! Let Richard know that I am willing to do something that will let his story be told! And like so many have requested it is important that the family is involved and approves such things! Please let me know! I would like to have a rememorance tree planted for him!
I want the family involved! It is important for us to keep Jose in our memory!
Ruhla, I love your ideas...
I also like Oreo's suggestion of including Amado's family. I can't imagine them denying us the opportunity of arranging a tribute for Amado. Perhaps you could invite them to a 'balloon release day' or whatever, as soon as his DNA results become official.
The media is an excellent idea, Ruhla. Maybe you and Barbie could tell the rest of the world about our little boy! This could also possibly be a good time for Barbie to promote her new child abuse websites.
Naturally these are merely suggestions. I would so love Amado to receive the same amount of attention as was given to Riley! They are both so special to everyone.
I also thought of making a wood carving of an angel for Amado's grave - from our 'Circle of friends' ... or is that a silly idea? Please let me know what u think.
Kind Regards
Marlene Visser

Great suggestion...but
Yes, that would be an excellent idea, Ruhla.
Do you feel that the family and relatives should be approached prior to organizing any tribute to Amado/ Jose Bernardo Martinez??
Would this be what they want??? I am sure he was loved by his father. What we would like to do, and what the father & relatives feel is something that should be looked into.
